Scene_WZ
Installation 2016
Scene_WZ is a site-specific work, dividing a space into two zones above and below by a suspended board. The above is an inaccessible zone illuminated by lights evenly, while the area below appears shadowy due to the blocking of the board. Its four sides are bordered by a certain gap from the walls, which allows the lights from above to cascade down and to surround the bulk as a bright square. The real space is thus profiled and measured through the play of light and shadow, visibility and invisibility.
Scene_WZ is completed site-specifically with minimum human work. Simultaneously hollow and full, the work alludes to some spiritual conditions concerning gloom, negativity, inversion, and lack.
